Windsor Castle

Originally built in the 11th century after the Norman invasion by William the Conqueror, since the time of Henry I, Windsor Castle has been used by succeeding monarchs and is the longest-occupied palace in Europe. The castle's lavish, early 19th-century State Apartments are architecturally significant. Windsor Castle was used as a refuge for the royal family during the bombing campaigns of the Second World War and remains a popular tourist attraction, a venue for hosting state visits, and the preferred weekend home of Elizabeth II.

Stonehenge

What's the meaning of Stonehenge? How could they raise the stones so high completely without the technology we have today? Believed to have been built between 3000 and 2000 BC, and one of the most famous sites in the world, Stonehenge is the remains of a ring of standing stones set within earthworks. It is in the middle of the most dense complex of Neolithic and Bronze Age monuments, including several hundred burial mounds.
